Check text

Log in to the HYCU VM console. Review the "/etc/audit/auditd.conf" file and verify the settings are in accordance with a locally developed list of auditable events. If it is not configured in accordance with organizational policies, this is a finding. Check for the value of the "max_log_file_action" option in "/etc/audit/auditd.conf" with the following command: sudo grep max_log_file_action /etc/audit/auditd.conf If the "max_log_file_action" value is not set to "ROTATIONROTATE", this is a finding.

How these changes are found

Checks are matched across the two releases by V-number. A check counts as updated when DISA gave it a new rule revision (the r number in its SV-…_rule id) and its title, severity, check text, fix text, discussion, CCIs or other fields changed — the same comparison STIG Compare makes. Added checks are new V-numbers; removed checks are V-numbers V1R3 no longer has.
