Title
The ICS must be configured to terminate after 10five minutes of inactivity except to fulfill documented and validated mission requirements.
Check text
In the ICS Web UI, navigate to Administrators >> Admins Role >> Delegated Admin Roles.
1. Click the configured admin role being used for CAC/PKI token admin logins (by default it is .Administrators).
2. Click the Session Options tab.
3. In the "Session Lifetime" section, verify the Idle Timeout is set to "105".
If the ICS does not terminate after 10 minutes of inactivity except to fulfill documented and validated mission requirements, this is a finding.

Discussion
Terminating an idle session within a short time period reduces the window of opportunity for unauthorized personnel to take control of a management session enabled on the console or console port that has been left unattended. In addition, quickly terminating an idle session will also free up resources committed by the managed network element.
Terminating network connections associated with communications sessions includes, for example, de-allocatingdeallocating associated TCP/IP address/port pairs at the operating system level, or de-allocatingdeallocating networking assignments at the application level if multiple application sessions are using a single, operating system-level network connection. This does not mean that the device terminates all sessions or network access; it only ends the inactive session and releases the resources associated with that session.
Upon the termination of a session, the Ivanti ICS inherently ends the inactive session and releases the resources associated with that session.
V-268324CAT IThe ICS must be configured to protect against known types of denial-of-service (DoS) attacks by enabling JITC mode.Discussion
Discussion
This configuration protects the confidentiality of Web UI sessionsessions and guards against DoS attacks. If JITC (DODIN APL) Mode is enabled, then the following protections are enforced:
- Log support for detection and prevention of SMURF/SYN Flood/SSL Replay Attack.
- Disable ICMPv6 echo response for multicast echo request.
- Disable ICMPv6 destination unreachable response.
- Password Strengthening.
- Notification for unsuccessful admin login attempts.
- Re-authenticationReauthentication of admin users.
- Notification on admin status change.
- Disable Roaming Sessions.
- Disable Split Tunneling.
- IP Lockout restrictions.
- Disable Allowing Saving Login Information.
- Disable Persistent Sessions.
- Remove Browser Session Cookie.
- Enable Server Certificate Trust Enforcement.
When JITC and FIPS mode isare enabled, itthis enables DoS attacks such as flooding and replay attack audit logs inherently. JITC and FIPS mode are required for ICS use in DOD. When the NDcPP option is enabled, only NDcPP allowedapproved crypto algorithms are allowed.
How these changes are found
Checks are matched across the two releases by V-number. A check counts as updated when DISA gave it a new rule revision (the r number in its SV-…_rule id) and its title, severity, check text, fix text, discussion, CCIs or other fields changed — the same comparison STIG Compare makes. Added checks are new V-numbers; removed checks are V-numbers V2R3 no longer has.
